Motswari Private Game Reserve nestled within the Timbavati Nature Reserve open to the Kruger National Park. This family-owned and operated 4* Luxury Safari Lodge prides itself on its warm antmosphere and luxurious accmoomdation
Motswari has incorporated Responsible Tourism as a key principle in our operating philosophy by further providing employment and opportunities for locals in the region since its inception. We are constantly on the lookout for ways in which we can assist the community surrounding our fair slice of Africa. Our employees are much more than simply workers as here at Motswari everyone is treated as a member of the family. This shows in the tight-knit way that we all interact with each other and with our visitors who always leave us reluctantly, having come to relish the friendships they have forged during their stay. Motswari Private Game Reserve is accredited by Fair Trade in Tourism, South Africa (FTTSA), although we have upheld these ideals since before the founding of this organisation. We are also proudly dedicated to the preservation of all forms of natural Southern African flora and fauna. The land was used for breeding rare and endangered animals such as white lions, nyalas, and contained no more than ultra-basic infrastructure. Over time, the animals became more accustomed to the sights and sounds of vehicles and quickly learnt that they did them no harm, and rather than running off when approached by vehicles, they barely paid any attention to them. It is this principle that is still in play today and allows for amazing sightings of even secretive animals that were simply not possible so many decades ago.
